Quantification of Leishmania sp for real time PCR:
The department of Veterinary and I + D of the Laboratory Echevarne has developed a new technology by means of real time PCR for the detection and quantification of Leishmania sp.
This technology quantifies the number of parasites of Leishmania sp. on the basis of the total quantity of nucleate present cells in the sample (parasites / cells). The most recent publications in specialized magazines of the sector demonstrate the great usefulness of this technology for the monitoring of the treatment in dogs affected for leishmaniosis.
