Clinical Analisys - Image Analysis unit

The main purpose of the Image Analysis Unit (Clinical Area) is to offer a service evaluating male fertility through the study of semen from the cytological, biochemical and immunological point of view.
Male fertility is a complex problem due to the large number of physiological factors involved in the fertilisation process. The high rate of infertility due to male factors requires a complete andrological analysis as well as the carrying out of functional tests to obtain clinical information which is very helpful in predicting fertility potential.
In the same way, various other fields of action in clinical analysis are covered, such as crystal evaluation or the determination of nitric oxide, nitrates, nitrites and nitrosothiols in biological liquids.
ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES:
• Computer-aided image analysis.
• Optical microscopy (light field, phase contrast, dark field)
• Fluorescence microscopy
• Polarisation microscopy
• Reflection microscopy
• Nitric oxide analyser in biological liquids by chemoluminescence
• Cytometry by image analysis
• Spectro-photometry
