The IT department represents the central axis for management and
communication between all the Laboratory's external and internal
customers.

All of our organisation's centres are connected to a telecommunication
network that enables a fast and efficient interaction between all
our users at anytime and from any location.
- Voice and data integrated network in all centres
- A virtual private network (VPN) with MPLS technology at a national level via data connection
with all the different laboratory's
centres
- Radiolink connections in nearby centres
- Internet, courier, email, anti-virus updates etc. service access
All the necessary resources that may ease and optimize the laboratory's
routine are managed from the Information Technologies department.
The central axis of these servicesare the LIS(Laboratory Information
System)and ERP (Enterprise ResourcePlanning)applications groups.
The LIS system is the main laboratory's work management support which
covers from patient data entry to results report, enabling clinical
history computer searches, results presentation, laboratory equipment
management, etc. The ERP tools complement LIS to support administrative
and decision making processes.
The Internal Development department responds to particular and specific
laboratory needs, in fields that are subject to constant innovation
which require special development projects. In this respect, the Quality
Asurance Unit (QAU) and the validation (21 CFR Part 11)and safety
(LOPD)integrated projects are of special significance.
